Adoption (Greek: huiotesia) — “placing as a son”
-
By adoption the individual has lost all rights to one’s old
family and gained all rights of a fully legitimate son of God.
-
By adoption the individual becomes heir to his new Father’s
estate.
The Seed of Abraham is Christ. By adoption, we are joint heirs
with the Father’s Son. So as the Father gives to Him, he is giving
to us jointly.
-
Through adoption all debts of the old former life are
cancelled.
-
Finally, in the eyes of the Law, the adopted child is
literally and absolutely the son of his new Father.
As Christ was to His Father, we are to be as Christ to our new
Father, a submissive son.
**The Covenant heirship places the individual believer in Christ
by adoption through the Holy Spirit.**
Sonship is completed in the Resurrection of the Believer, 1 John
3:2; Ephesians 2:4-7, 3:8-12.
