Ephesians 5 & Colossians 3--A Comparison

The following table identifies the similarities between Ephesians 5 and Colossians 3 as the apostle Paul addressed common themes in both epistles.

Ephesians 5:18-21
Colossians 3:15-17

And be not drunk with wine, in which is excess, but be filled with the Spirit,

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Let the word of Christ dwell in your richly, in all wisdom teaching

Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,

and admonishing one another, in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

And whatever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
